Ms. Durrant Lifetime Mortgage

At the age of 64 our client was retiring, but she had an outstanding mortgage and debts totalling £25,000. She also had available investments and capital of £24,000. At her retirement she had decided she did not want to downsize her home or go into rented or sheltered accommodation, but wanted to clear all her debts, complete some home improvements and put some capital in the bank to cover short, medium and longer term needs. Her house was valued at £315,000.


After considering all the options and reviewing all of her circumstances, Bright Equity Release Solutions recommended an £85,000 fixed interest rate Lifetime Mortgage, enabling her to achieve all of her financial aims along with peace of mind for her retirement.

At the age of seventy this client was finding it difficult to meet his financial commitments. The cost of paying his mortgage had eaten away at his savings and he was down to his last £3,000. He did not want to move home or go into rented or sheltered accommodation as his house is perfect for his needs. Something had to be done.


Bright Equity Release Solutions considered all of his financial circumstances and advised Mr. Coupe to take up a Home Reversion plan. His house was sold at a value of £190,000 and he received a cash payment of £107,000 in return. He was able to pay his commitments in full and had enough left to put some capital in the bank for emergencies.
